Human Resource/Operations Executive needed at a Technology Company, Lagos State

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with company CEO and/or Director to strategically plan HR initiatives that will benefit the company and encourage more efficient and beneficial work from employees
  • Develop, implement, and enforce  an effective performance management system (e.g. review monthly/quarterly/annual and 360° evaluations)
  • Develop fair HR policies and ensure employees understand and comply with them
  • Implement effective sourcing, screening, and interviewing techniques
  • Direct all hiring and training procedures for new employees
  • Develop, implement and educate employees and customers on the company’s code of conduct, and boundary systems.
  • Continually educate employees on company policies (including sexual harassment, appropriate dress, social media permissions, etc.) and keep employee handbooks current
  • Administer or manage benefits, health plans, retirement plans, etc.
  • Monitor employee progress and stay abreast on company climate and culture, ensuring it stays positive and productive
  • Coordinate and direct work activities for managers and employees
  • Foster cross-functional relationships and ensure managers and employees are properly connected
  • Regularly meet with employees for progress reviews and assessments, discussing any problems or grievances they may have
  • Promote a positive and open work environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues
  • Manage and supervise other HR and operations staff, ensuring they are assigned and carry out proper tasks
  • Understand and adhere to all pertinent labor laws
  • Act as the point of contact regarding labor legislation issues, and other regulatory issues
  • Assess training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives for all employees and customers
  • Facilitate training for employees
  • Manage relationships with business partners, customers, contractors, etc.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as an HR Executive, HR Manager, or similar role
  • Familiarity with Human Resources Management Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting
  • Good knowledge of labor legislation (particularly employment contracts, employee income tax, health management, pensions, leaves, and insurance)
  • Demonstrable leadership abilities
  • Solid communication skills
  • BSc/MSc in Human Resources Management or relevant field is an advantage
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or related field will be an added advantage
  • Comfortable working in a highly visible role
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Honest, ethical, and dependable
  • Experienced in mediation and conflict resolution processes
  • Positive, go-getter attitude.
  • Candidates that have a habit of not finishing tasks until they are asked to do so are ineligible.
  • Expert stress management skills and ability to make important decisions under pressure
  • Attentive listener; understanding, empathetic, and personable
  • 3+ years of management experience in HR
  • Highly computer literate in Microsoft Suite (especially Excel) and other HR software programs
